By using RentCafe.com (RentCafe ILS) or any property websites powered by RentCafe (RentCafe Portal) (collectively, “RentCafe”), you acknowledge you have read and understand the latest version of the RentCafe Privacy Policy (posted at https://resources.yardi.com/legal/rentcafe-privacy-policy/), which describes RentCafe’s privacy practices and will be updated from time to time. The property may have its own Privacy Policy that describes the property’s privacy practices.

PRIVACY Notice

This privacy Notice(the “Privacy Notice”) of Valiant Residential (“Valiant Residential,” “we,” “us,” or “our,”) privacy practices regarding information we collect from persons or entities (“you” or “your”) who access our property’s RENTCafé Resident Portal website or our related mobile applications that may be available for download (collectively, the “Site”). PURPOSE

The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to inform you about the types of information we gather about you, including information gathered when you visit our Property, the Site, and information we may receive from third parties or affiliates in addition to that online information, how we may use that information, whether we disclose that information to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and how you can exercise any rights you have regarding our processing of your Personal Data (defined further below). Valiant Residential strives to help visitors of the Site protect their privacy while using or visiting our Property and Site.

THE SITE IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN AND VALIANT RESIDENTIAL DOES NOT KNOWINGLY SOLICIT OR COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE SITE FROM CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13. What is Personal Data?

USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES Like many other website operators, Valiant Residential may use cookies to customize content specific to your interests and track your use of the Site. “Cookies” are text files that are placed on your computer and may be used to store your Personal Data. In addition to cookies, Valiant Residential may use other now known or later developed technologies, to assist Valiant Residential in observing the behavior of users visiting the Site. These technologies access individual user information but the information is used only to compile aggregated statistics about the Site’s usage.

This Site uses Google Analytics (and in the future may use other similar sites or services), a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to better assist Valiant Residential in understanding how the Site is used. Google Analytics will place cookies on your computer that will generate information that we select about your use of the Site, including your computer’s IP address. That information will be transmitted to and stored by Google. The information will be used for the purpose of evaluating consumer use of the Site, compiling reports on Site activity for Valiant Residential’s use, and providing other services relating to Site activity and usage. We do not “sell” your Personal Data or share it for the purposes of cross-context behavioral (i.e., “targeted”) advertising or profiling nor do we process your sensitive Personal Data to infer characteristics about you. We do allow certain third parties to collect information about the users of our Services to provide valuable services to us, such as fraud detection, reporting, and analytics. This may include sharing information about your interactions with our Online Services, including information searched for or viewed in connection with our Online Services for the purposes of providing you with information related to your searches, queries, or other interactions with our Online Services.

You can choose to delete existing cookies, allow or block all cookies, and set preferences for certain websites in your browser’s settings. Please note you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Site if you choose to block all cookies.

EMAIL MANAGEMENT. You may receive emails from Valiant Residential for a variety of reasons. We respect your desire to manage email correspondence. If you have an account with Valiant Residential on the Site, you can select your preferences through your account settings. You can also manage your receipt of certain types of communication or opt out by following the instructions included in the email we send you. Please note that, even if you unsubscribe from certain email correspondences, we may still need to email you with important transactional or administrative information.

DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS. Certain web browsers and other programs may transmit “opt-out” signals, also called a Global Privacy Control (or GPC) signals or Do-Not-Track signals (GPC Signals), to websites with which the browser communicates. Please note that we do not have the ability to recognize or honor browser do-not-track or similar signals at this time. However, Valiant Residential does not engage in targeted advertising or the sale of Personal Data

HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION. Valiant Residential is committed to protecting the security of any Personal Data you provide to us. We maintain commercially reasonable safeguards to maintain the security and privacy of Personal Data that you provide to us. In spite of these protections, Valiant Residential cannot guarantee the security of any data submitted over the Internet. After your information reaches Valiant Residential, however, it is protected by procedures and technology designed to block reasonably foreseeable intrusions by unauthorized third parties. We may store and process your Personal Data in the United States or Canada or any other country in which we or our agents maintain facilities. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information among these facilities, including those located outside your home country.

INTERACTIVE FEATURES OF OUR WEBSITES. To the extent we offer any public or group forums in connection with our Services, such as newsfeeds, blogs, message boards, chat or question functions, or similar tools (“Interactive Features”), the posts or comments you make may be public and viewed by others. You should use care before posting information about yourself, including Personal Data. Because these are public postings, you should have no expectation of privacy or confidentiality in the content you submit to Interactive Features in connection with the Services. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES. Our Online Services may contain links to other websites, applications, or services that are not owned or operated by Valiant Residential. Such links do not imply an endorsement with respect to any third party, any website, or the products or services provided thereby. This Privacy Notice applies solely to information collected by Valiant Residential. This Privacy Notice does not apply to other websites that are accessible through this Site, including but not limited to any third-party websites.

DATA RETENTION. In order to provide you with the Services you request, answer questions you may have about the Services provided, and for our own accountability to external regulatory bodies, we retain your information for a period deemed reasonable under the circumstances. We generally retain Personal Data for as long as needed for the specific purpose or purposes for which it was collected or obtained, and as outlined in this Notice. Whenever possible, we aim to de-identify or anonymize your Personal Data or otherwise remove some or all information that may identify you from records that we may need to keep for periods beyond the specified retention period. Retention periods may be extended if we are required to preserve your personal data in connection with litigation, investigations and proceedings, or if a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.
